Fifth Generation Series Kumeu Chardonnay – Reviews

This home grown, hand picked and family made Chardonnay is the latest addition to our wine list and we, the fifth generation, are proud to put our names on it!

Below is the stunning reviews we have been receiving so you can see if you’re ready to pick up a bottle!

Yvonne Lorkin – 5 Stars

This is the debut chardonnay from the Kumeu vineyard of a West Auckland Octogenerian producer, and it’s an absolute star.
Celebrating the welcoming of the fifth generation of Soljan family members (Tyler and Amber) into the family business, this 100% handpicked, 100% barrel fermented, 100% malolactic fermented wine absolutely sings with pineapple, roast peach, creme caramel and citrus zest layers.
Rich, SO rich! Buttered crumpet characters, freshness and just beautifully-balanced bursts of flavour in every sip.

I absolutely love it.

Sam Kim (Wine Orbit) – 5 Stars, 93 Points

Bold and opulent, the richly expressed chardonnay shows golden peach, baked apple, mango and vanilla characters, followed by a succulent palate that is wonderfully weighted and creamy. It is expansive and flavoursome, leading to a lingering delectable finish.

At its best: now to 2022
